Welcome to edbaskerville.comWelcome to my website. If you don't know me, I'm a guy living in San Francisco, where I spend my time playing the cello, designing and writing Mac software (a bit of which I've even released), and doing programming work for researchers in ecology, which I'm trying to learn more about. As a cellist, I'm available for:

This version adds some important features to make it actually a little bit useful: you can now see the LilyPond output in the preview window, and use either the LilyPond application or the Fink distribution. LilyPad Preview 1 Released 23 July 2005 LilyPad—an editor and previewer for the LilyPond music typesetting system—is now far enough along for other people to see, so I'm releasing it on this website and announcing it on the lilypond-user list. I will also ask the core developers if they're interested in having it become part of LilyPond itself, since our Mac OS X efforts seem to have been similar of late. Invited to the Sierra Summer Festival 22 July 2005 I was invited by some of my old Icicle Creek friends—Maria Newman, Scott Hosfeld, and the wonderful Travers family—to fill an open cello spot at the Sierra Summer Festival in Mammoth Lakes. It sounds like a great time—and they're paying me! XgridLite 1.0 Released 9 May 2005 XgridLite enables the controller for Apple's Xgrid distributed computing solution in the standard version of Mac OS X Tiger. XgridLite is an easy-to-use add-on to Mac OS X Tiger's System Preferences application. Tricoastal Arts Project Announced 15 April 2005 This June, the Tricoastal Arts Project will go on tour in New England. The tour will feature performances by a piano trio—Chris Molina on piano, Krista Kawaguchi on violin, and me on cello—interspersed with original theater pieces by Will Dunlap, Dargie Andersen, and Andy Mitton. Watch the tricoastalartsproject.org site for gig dates and program information. LilyPad Preview 1 In Development 15 April 2005 LilyPad is a Mac OS X editor and previewer for the LilyPond music layout system. Features will include syntax coloring, code completion, and "almost live" previewing as you type. Look for LilyPad Preview 1 soon. edbaskerville.com Now Online 15 April 2005 I'm pleased to announce the debut of edbaskerville.com.
