LilyPad

LilyPad is a Mac OS X editor and previewer for the LilyPond music layout system. LilyPad is currently in the early development stages, but a preview version is available for download.

To use LilyPad, you need Mac OS X version 10.4 ("Tiger"), and you must have LilyPond 2.6.0 or later installed.

Current features include:

• A simple code editor with indent preservation
• "Almost live" previewing as you type
• Previews of typeset music (PDF) and audio (MIDI)
• "Point-and-click" links between typeset music and the source code, all within the same application

LilyPad Preview 2 is free to download and use. If you like what you see—or if you don't, and want to help change it—you can donate to help support future development.

Changes in Preview 2-1:

• Fixed breaking of undo/redo with increase/decrease indent commands.

Changes in Preview 2:

• Supports command-line (e.g., Fink) installations of LilyPond, as well as any location for the LilyPond application.
• LilyPond output now shown in the preview window.
• Line and character numbers now shown in the editor window, and support for jumping to a particular line or character.
• Increase/decrease indent commands added. NOTE: using these commands currently breaks undo.
• Icon stolen from LilyPond removed. Icon donations accepted.
